MEET PASTOR JOEL& KAREN
Pastor Joel Rissinger has been in full-time ministry since 1992. In this capacity, he has led several congregations through major transitions. He is also the cofounding pastor of LifeWay Church in Newington, CT. Karen is a retired school psychologist who also has a BA in Theology plus over 30 years of ministry experience working with children, teens, women's ministry, and married couples.

“PJ” as he’s often called, is a speaker, teacher, and coach for several organizations. He and Karen are Field Shepherds with Standing Stone Ministry. Also, PJ has been a presenter for Iron Sharpens Iron, the “Perspectives” missions course, and the Prepare-Enrich marriage counseling program sponsored by Life Innovations, Inc. In addition to his pastoral and speaking duties, Joel has served as a chaplain for several corporations in New England and owns a Chaplaincy Business providing trained chaplains to multiple facilities.

Pastor Joel has a BA in theology from Ambassador University, as well as MAs in both religion and religious education from Liberty University. Karen has an MS in School Psychology from the University of Hartford and a BA in theology from Ambassador. Joel has shared his passion and experience in over a dozen compelling books including: "Things Your Pastor Would Love to Say...(But Can't)," "The Crucified Church," "The Crucified Couple," "Whole 4 Life," "Communicate to Lead," and several others. Karen is a successful author as well. Her book, "Tapestry of Many Blessings," has been used by many, including many women's study groups.

Pastor Joel and his wife Karen have been married for over 38 years. They have two adult children, an awesome son-in-law and two beautiful granddaughters.
